Legacy Ballrooms open for Indoor Seated Entertainment
The Hawaii Okinawa Center’s Legacy Ballroom is now accepting reservations to host Indoor Events in compliance with Order 10: Safe Access Oahu.
Indoor interactive events are currently not allowed with more than 10 people, however beginning Nov. 3, 2021, they will be able to operate at 50% capacity with a maximum of 150 people (including employees). This increases to 300 in Phase 2 on Nov. 24, 2021.
Please review the guidelines for your Indoor Interactive Event below (Effective Nov. 3):
- Proof of full vaccination for all attendees
- Face coverings are required at all times (except when actively drinking water)
- Mitigation plan required
- Operators, contractors, vendors and workers must comply with Order 10: Safe Access Oahu
- The maximum number of attendees is capped at 50% of the maximum capacity for the venue or 150 attendees, whichever is fewer (this increases to 300 in Phase 2 on Nov. 24)
- Food and beverages will be served

Ballroom and Event Venue on Oahu
For larger events needing that perfect touch, there’s no better place than the Legacy Ballroom. It’s the ideal setting for banquets, wedding receptions, conferences and luaus. With a seating capacity of up to 800 (without social distancing), the Ballroom can be divided into the Legacy I and Legacy II Ballrooms for smaller parties. It features a theatre stage (with professional lighting and large, retractable screen available at extra cost).
The tranquil Takakura Okinawan Garden, located just outside the Ballroom, provides the perfect backdrop for any event and is a popular setting for weddings and group photos.
Located in Waipio Gentry at the Hawaii Okinawa Center, the Legacy Ballroom is our premier banquet venue. It is especially convenient to the Leeward and Central Oahu areas, and is readily accessible via freeway from Honolulu.
A Catered Experience is the exclusive caterer for events at the Hawaii Okinawa Center in Waipahu.
Ballroom Services and Policies
A Banquet Captain, Wait Staff and Buffet Attendant are provided for all catered events at the Legacy Ballroom. Additional staff may be required for carving stations (at extra cost).
Free guest parking is available at the Hawaii Okinawa Center, with 126 regular parking spots and 6 for handicapped drivers.
The Ballroom does not provide projectors or specialized sound equipment. However, we can provide a podium with a microphone that feeds into the main house speakers.
The Legacy and Legacy I Ballrooms offer a 11’ x 14’ retractable screen that can be rented for $25.00 (plus service fee and tax). The Legacy II Ballroom has a portable screen (approximately 6ʹ x 6ʹ) available at no additional fee.
Liquor and Bar Services
A Catered Experience does not handle liquor, but you may hire bartenders on your own. We currently recommend Aloha on the Rocks.
